When U2 played their first show in Dublin during the 70's, no one would have thought this group was destined to become one of the world's famous groups!!
The band consists of:
Paul Hewson (Bono) on vocals and guitar
Larry Mullen Jr. on drums and percussion
Adam Clayton on bass guitar
Dave Evans (The Edge) on guitar, keyboards & vocals
Larry Mullen Jr was a 14 year old boy who went to Mount Temple and had been playing the drums since he was 9 years of age. He started the band by sticking a card on the school notice board, advertising for guitarists for the new band he was getting together.Adam Clayton, who was an English pupil who had only been at the school a couple of months, was the first to join the group. The next to join was Dave Evans (The Edge) and lastly Paul Hewson (Bono)!!
